Mexico at its cheapest in a month: the Playa del Carmen package is under 84,000 CZK
Not every week shows such a clean reversal: the Playa del Carmen package price swung sharply up and, in under three weeks, fell back to almost its 34-day floor.
As of 10 Aug 2026, the cheapest tracked family package (2 adults + 2 children, ages 8 and 10) to Playa del Carmen, Mexico costs 83,972 CZK - a price verified directly with the vendor, not just a search-result estimate. The price is cheaper than 91% of its own history
The Aspira hotel in Playa del Carmen (no meals included), departing Prague on 24 Sep 2026 for 4 nights, is listed at 83,972 CZK for the family (20,993 CZK/pp). Add the airport transfer (2,953 CZK) and extra food (5,600 CZK, since meals aren't included) and the real price is 92,525 CZK (how we compute the real price is covered in Real price: what we count into it, and why).
Against that stands the destination's own 34-day history: median 89,240 CZK, historical minimum 83,712 CZK (recorded 7 Aug 2026 - just 260 CZK below today's price). The 10 Aug 2026 price is therefore cheaper than 91% of the days we've recorded for Mexico over the last 34 days, and the moving trend confirms the direction: we flag it as declining. What happened in July
This destination's history isn't a smooth line. Between 22 and 30 Jul 2026, the same baseline (the cheapest tracked package to Mexico) sat between 125,000 and 130,000 CZK on eight of the nine days - peaking on 25 Jul at 129,745 CZK, almost one and a half times today's price. One day in the middle (24 Jul) it dropped to 86,440 CZK and bounced straight back up - we say so because a smoothed story would not be true. The whole series came back down on 31 Jul and has declined almost every day since. None of these figures is an estimate: all are the same tracked destination baseline, just weeks apart.

Why right now
Late September falls in the window the US National Hurricane Center (NOAA) marks as the statistical peak of the Atlantic hurricane season (10 September), with the highest activity running roughly from mid-August to mid-October - and the Caribbean and Yucatán, where Playa del Carmen sits, are squarely inside that window. That alone doesn't prove the price fell because of hurricane season - we couldn't honestly verify that causation - but it's a well-established off-peak factor that tends to show up in tour operators' Caribbean pricing around the late-summer to autumn turn.
What to do with this
A price close to a 34-day floor and a declining trend give the model reasonable grounds to say buy - but that isn't a prediction of the future, just an honest comparison against its own history, which can move again by tomorrow.
