An independent Czech indie project: a price watchdog for package holidays and flights that tells you when it's a good time to buy - and when it's more honest to wait.
Who's behind it
Voyscout is a small independent Czech project - no travel agency, no marketing network behind it. It's built and run by Michael, who wanted a data-backed answer to one question for his own family trips: is this price actually good, or does it just look good? Voyscout doesn't sell trips - booking always happens with the vendor, and we say openly what we earn (see the disclosure below).
Why it exists
Holiday marketing runs on fake urgency: "-40%" off a price nobody ever paid, "last 2 rooms", catalogue teasers that swell at checkout. Voyscout was built as the antidote - no fake discounts, no invented urgency. Just each route's own price history and a verdict that has real data behind it. When the honest answer is "wait", that's what it says, even though waiting earns us nothing.
The method in a nutshell
- Our own price history. We scan package and flight prices on our own schedule and keep each route's series - so today's offer is compared against real observations, not a guess.
- Percentiles, not adjectives. "Cheap" only means something against history: we say where today's price sits inside everything we've seen for that route.
- Verified vs indicative prices. A price confirmed at the vendor is marked verified; a price straight from a search listing stays indicative - and never carries a confident buy call on its own.
