Maldives: fare near its ceiling, package low
Two independent price series, one destination, one day - and each says something different.
As of 7 Sep 2026 a flight to the Maldives for a family (2 adults + 2 children) costs 58,870 CZK and is cheaper than only 26% of the 46 days we've measured on this series - close to its own ceiling so far. A package for the same family on the same day costs 109,959 CZK and is cheaper than 90% of the 49 measured days; it is not the cheapest of the last five weeks, though - on 3 Sep we measured 105,846 CZK. Two independent series, same destination, opposite direction.
What each series did
| Series | Tracked | Minimum | Median | As of 7 Sep 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flight (family 2+2, whole party) | 46 days (19 Jul - 7 Sep 2026) | 54,836 CZK (2 Sep) | 57,642 CZK | 58,870 CZK |
| Package (family 2+2, whole party) | 49 days (8 Jul - 7 Sep 2026) | 88,880 CZK (8 Jul) | 155,178 CZK | 109,959 CZK |
The package series has a gap with no scan between 21 Aug and 2 Sep 2026. The last price before the gap (20 Aug) was 140,625 CZK, the first after it resumed (3 Sep) was 105,846 CZK - a 25% drop between those two points. What happened inside the gap our data does not show, so we don't claim it.
What you cannot get from this
The gap between 109,959 and 58,870 CZK is not the price of accommodation. Each series is the cheapest offer of its own kind on a given day - different airport, different dates, different length of stay - so subtracting them describes nothing anyone can buy. We described the same rule for the Turkey comparison, except there both series pointed the same way. For the Maldives it's the opposite: they agree that two different prices exist, not on which direction they're moving.
The cheapest flight combination as of 7 Sep 2026 runs Vienna (VIE) to Malé (MLE), departing 30 Nov, returning 14 Dec 2026 - outside peak season, which for this destination usually means lower flight demand even as package capacity gets cheaper for its own reasons.
Which rail is for whom
A family that wants all-inclusive and a transfer compares against the package row - and as of 7 Sep 2026 they're better off than for most of the tracked period. Someone building the trip themselves compares against the flight row - and it isn't offering any discount right now. Voyscout deliberately writes no verdict here: how price, history and trend turn into a recommendation for your own dates and party is described in How Voyscout works. The methodology behind the flight series - where the numbers come from and why they're never compared across party sizes - is in How we track flight prices.
The numbers here are the state as of 7 Sep 2026 and we do not rewrite them - the continuously updated version of both series lives on the destination page.
