As of 14 Sep 2026, a direct round-trip fare for a family (2 adults + 2 children) from Bratislava (BTS) to Varna (VAR) for 30 Mar-13 Apr 2027 costs 5,862 CZK - cheaper than only 20% of the 50 days we've measured for this exact route and these exact dates since 23 Jul 2026. A package to Bulgaria for the same family (2+2) on the same day costs 19,960 CZK and is cheaper than 86% of the 90 measured days. Two independent series, same destination, opposite picture.

The price held around 5,100-5,200 CZK for two weeks, then dropped to 4,837 CZK on 2-3 Sep 2026 - close to its all-time low so far (4,648 CZK, 14 Aug 2026). The very next day, 4 Sep 2026, it jumped to 5,838 CZK - a 21% rise in a single day - and has not left the 5,838-5,902 CZK band since, eleven straight scans on.

Why it happened exactly on 4 Sep 2026, our data doesn't show - we see the price, not the cause. What it shows clearly is that this is a jump, not a slow slide like the Croatia fare we described earlier, and that the new, higher level has held for over a week.

The gap between 19,960 and 5,862 CZK is not the price of accommodation - the same rule we described for the Maldives comparison. The flight series tracks ONE specific flight with a fixed route and dates. The package series is each day's cheapest offer for the same family (2+2) from a wide set of hotels, dates and stay lengths across the whole country - a different hotel, different dates, different length of stay almost every day. Subtracting them would describe a flight and a stay that never belonged together, exactly the fabricated price this site never prints.
