Malta, 30 Nov-9 Dec window: the flight got 28% pricier since mid-September
We've tracked the same nine-night Malta window repeatedly since mid-September - and the price has climbed by more than a quarter since.
As of 25 Oct 2026, a flight for a family (2 adults + 2 children) to Malta for the 30 Nov-9 Dec 2026 window (9 nights) costs 6,087 CZK - 27.9% more than on 15 Sep 2026, when the same window cost 4,760 CZK (we don't have the departure airport recorded for that earlier scan, only the price). Every price in this article is a flight-search price and is indicative - the one that counts is what the seller shows at checkout.
Nineteen scans, the same window
Our broad scan compares a grid of departure airports from our home cluster (Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Wroclaw, Katowice, Krakow, Budapest, Ostrava) and dates across a rolling ~330-day window, picking the cheapest combination roughly every two days (Malta's scan frequency is fixed at this cadence, not daily). Between 15 Sep and 25 Oct 2026 we logged 19 comparable scans at this spacing where the same 30 Nov-9 Dec 2026 window won every time (on two other days, 19 and 21 Oct, the scan briefly showed a shorter six-night variant of the same departure - we exclude those two days from this series). We don't have the winning departure airport recorded for the older scans, so we don't name it here - but the dates stayed the same, and as of 25 Oct 2026 Krakow leads.
| Scan date | Price (family 2+2) |
|---|---|
| 15 Sep 2026 (the series' low so far) | 4,760 CZK |
| 29 Sep 2026 (the series' ceiling so far) | 6,751 CZK |
| 17 Oct 2026 | 5,095 CZK |
| 25 Oct 2026 (latest scan) | 6,087 CZK |
Where today's price sits in the history
Of the 19 comparable scans, the price as of 25 Oct 2026 (6,087 CZK) is pricier than 13 of them and cheaper than only 5. The whole window's average is 5,760 CZK, so as of 25 Oct 2026 the price sits just under 6% above it - the price hasn't dropped back to the level it held mid-window, it's simply holding in the pricier part of the band. The 30 Nov-9 Dec dates fall in the first week of December, the start of Advent - whether that's connected to the rise, our data doesn't show; we see the price, not the demand behind it.
Where the airport comparison stands today
As of 25 Oct 2026, the comparison of eight airports for this week is led by Krakow (6,087 CZK), followed by Wroclaw (6,852 CZK), Bratislava (9,107 CZK), Budapest (9,507 CZK), Katowice (12,273 CZK), Vienna (13,444 CZK), Ostrava (18,760 CZK) and Prague (20,390 CZK) - more than triple Krakow's price. These are the cheapest fares for the same departure week, not necessarily the exact same day as the winner.
What to do with it
We're deliberately not writing a verdict here - one combination getting pricier doesn't mean it's now a bad buy for your own dates or party. Anyone considering this December window to Malta at least gets a clear picture: the price has risen by more than a quarter since mid-September, and in the last ten comparable scans (3-25 Oct 2026) it dropped below 5,500 CZK only once, on 17 Oct. How price, history and trend turn into a recommendation for your own dates and party is described in How Voyscout works; the methodology behind the flight series is in How we track flight prices.
The numbers here are the state as of 25 Oct 2026 and we do not rewrite them - the continuously updated version lives on the destination page.
