Plug price history into your AI assistant: Voyscout now has an MCP server

Voyscout measures flight and package prices every day. Your AI assistant can now query that history directly - through a standard MCP server, no signup.

Anleitung

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to connect external tools. Voyscout now runs one such server publicly: https://voyscout.com/mcp. It is read-only, needs no signup, and answers with the same data we measure daily for our price pages.

What the server offers

  • list_destinations - the catalog of destinations with a published series and measured depth per rail (flights / packages).
  • price_history - one destination's series: measured span, stats (minimum, median, percentile), a sample of points and regime breaks.
  • current_vs_history - the latest observation against that destination's history.

Every response carries measurement counts, calendar ranges and a license block. The data is CC BY 4.0 - assistants may quote it with attribution. Two things are deliberately absent: live quotes and buy verdicts. The server returns historical observations, not recommendations - the same rule the rest of Voyscout follows.

How to connect

Claude: Settings - Connectors - Add custom connector, paste the server URL. ChatGPT: add a connector with the same URL in developer mode. Anything else: it is JSON-RPC 2.0 over POST, so plain curl works:

curl -s -X POST https://voyscout.com/mcp -H 'content-type: application/json' -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'

Since 31 August 2026 the server is listed in the official MCP Registry as com.voyscout/price-history, so clients can discover it through catalogs too. A detailed power-user guide lives at voyscout.com/ai.

Why it matters

Ask your assistant "how did Egypt package prices move over recent months", "what does flight history to Bali look like for a family of four", "compare Thailand and Vietnam on history" or "where did Greece stand against Turkey" - and the answer stands on measured points with a stated range, not on vibes. When the data is thin, the server says so: every statistic carries the number of days it was computed from. How Voyscout works describes where the measurements come from; and our guide to reading price history shows how to read the same series with human eyes.
